Buffalo Tented Camp
Buffalo Tented Camp, part of the Buffalo Private Collection, is located within the Bwabwata National Park in Namibia’s Zambezi Region. This remote wilderness setting offers an authentic safari experience in one of Southern Africa’s most important wildlife corridors. Key reasons to book include its unfenced safari setting, proximity to the Okavango River, and direct access to exceptional game viewing within a protected conservation area known for elephant migration and diverse wildlife.
Buffalo Tented Camp offers a premier self-catering escape within the Buffalo Core Area of Namibia’s Bwabwata National Park. This strictly protected wilderness zone is a cornerstone of the Kavango-Zambezi Transfrontier Conservation Area (KAZA), home to large herds of African buffalo, elephants, and rare antelope like sable and roan.
About the park
The Buffalo Core Area is located in Bwabwata National Park – a lush, water-rich landscape shaped by the Okavango river system. It forms part of the Kavango–Zambezi Transfrontier Conservation Area (KAZA), one of the largest conservation areas in the world.
This protected wilderness area is known for its large herds of African buffalo, as well as elephant, predators, rare antelope species, and abundant birdlife. Seasonal floodplains, river channels, and woodlands create a dynamic ecosystem that supports high biodiversity.
Bwabwata is unique in that it is a living park, where local communities coexist with wildlife. The Buffalo Core Area reflects this balance, offering a pristine, conservation-focused environment while supporting sustainable, community-integrated management.
